Introduction to Greek Course: Requirements

File GLW3

I am glad you are interested in learning Greek. It is not that difficult if you study and apply yourself on a regular basis.

Should the case arise that the tutor have to call you back by telephone, with your permission of course, it will be on a collect basis. You will not receive a call unless you specifically suggest it and Mr. Tutor thinks it is necessary and so confirms it with you. We don't want to cost you more expense than necessary.  Therefore, it is unlikely that this should ever happen.

Your postal mail for additional information and return homework, if and when it may be necessary, must be sent through stamped, self-addressed envelopes. It would be a good idea for you to send Mr. Tutor one now and every time he sends you something just in case it is needed. This will benefit you.

In the US, an envelope will hold at least four pages (if the paper is not too thick) without requiring extra postage. Write on both sides for homework and add additional information in one envelope when possible.

Save all the materials Mr. Tutor sends and will send for future reference, including e-mails. It is a good idea to print them. The code may be in the top right hand corner of  Mr. Tutor's mail for reference. Get yourself a folder to keep your papers in it.

Even if you do have a free internet source available, I advise you to purchase a Greek grammar or primer, an interlinear Greek text with a reference to variations if possible, a lexicon (analytical) and a Strong's Concordance with Greek Dictionary when you can possibly afford it. (You may go to this page for an example to see why we use them.) There are many other fine books on the market. You may order from the internet or book store. Also, you may consider software as even a better deal.

The following is required for you to take the course with the interactive help of the tutor (you may ask questions concerning the lessons at any time):

1. Email

2. Access to a grammar or primer, Greek text (interlinear please!), Greek lexicon

Stamped return envelope (Only if you want your handwritten work checked)
